Samuel T. ""Bubba" Brunson, born 1962 is a Florence, South Carolina native.  A graduate of West Florence High School, Bubba then attended and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the College of Charleston in 1984.  There, he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and the Pre-Law Society.  From there he attended and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law with a Juris Doctorate Degree and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1987.

 

Following a two year clerkship with Judge Edward B. Cottingham of the Fourth Judicial Circuit, Bubba began practicing with the Firm of Coleman, Aiken & Chase in Florence, South Carolina.  His concentration with this firm was Worker's Compensation Defense.  In 1997, Bubba resigned as a shareholder to open his own practice, Brunson Law Firm.

 

Bubba is a member of the Florence County Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, is a Certified Civil Mediator, and is licensed to practice before all South Carolina Courts.

 

His focus is on Mediation and Worker's Compensation Defense and has primarly appeared before the South Carolina Worker's Compensation Commission on behalf of Employers, Insurers, Self-Insured's, Uninsured Employers, and the South Carolina Uninsured Employer's Fund.

 

Throughout his nearly 25 years of private practice, Bubba has handled thousands of Worker's Compensation cases including Full Commission, Court of Appeals, and S.C. Supreme Court Appeals.

 

Bubba is married with three children.  He and his family attend Central United Methodist Church.  Over the years he has been involved in his community and has volunteered as youth soccer coach, active in the Boy Scouts of America as an assistant Scoutmaster, Cub Scout & Webelo Den Leader.  

 

Bubba is an advid cyclist and is the Founder & President of the PedalPack of the Pee Dee Bicycle Club.  He has competed in and completed triathlons and marathons.
